VIA; Joe Kent tells Jimmy the team he directed at the National Counterterrorism Center was blocked from continuing to investigate Charlie Kirk’s killing after the FBI said it had everything it needed and the case would be transferred to state authorities. He says he objected because he believed there were additional leads, including potential international connections and online activity that warranted further investigation beyond the alleged lone-gunman narrative.
According to Kent, FBI officials initially restricted access to the case, and FBI Director Kash Patel ultimately told his team that they were done investigating, with the matter being handed to the FBI and Utah authorities. The discussion concludes with Kent saying he disagreed with the decision but ultimately lost the dispute with the DOJ and was instructed to stop pursuing additional leads
